2026- Make It Your Year!

As the first official week of 2026 comes to an end, I hope the New Year’s resolutions you set are still in sight.

This year, my goals look very different—and it all started back in May of 2024 when I decided to take a leap and try a GLP-1. All I can say is this: I feel free. I never imagined that taking a medication once a week could completely change my life, but it did.

Imagine where you could be a year from now if the weight you’ve been carrying—both externally and internally—was lifted. For the first time in my adult life, I get to set goals that aren’t centered around losing weight, going to the gym more, or constantly stressing about food.

For years, I thought my goals were simple: get my weight under control and stay consistent in the gym. But it wasn’t simple—and now I finally understand why. That “why” adds up to an 85-pound weight loss and, more importantly, gaining my confidence back.

As you step into this new year, I want to challenge you to ask yourself an honest question:
Is your situation truly preventing you from working toward your goals, or are you getting in your own way?

Life will get in the way sometimes—and that’s okay. Maybe you planned to go to the gym, but your little one needs you more that day. Maybe a last-minute opportunity pops up. That’s life. What matters is recognizing when you are the obstacle.
“I just don’t feel like it.” Not an excuse.
Making up reasons in your head why you can’t do it? I’ve been there—also not an excuse.

Most importantly: ask for help.

If that help comes in the form of a weight-loss medication, great. If it’s a gym accountability partner, find one. If it’s support at work or at home, ask for it. The worst someone can say is no—and then you find another way.

This journey has taught me that I am stronger than I ever thought possible. With that in mind, I’m sharing my fitness goals for the year—publicly—so I can hold myself accountable:

  1. Run a 5K
Honestly, I hate running. Which is exactly why I want to do this—to prove to myself that I can succeed at things I don’t love.
  2. Master a double under
This is something I consistently struggle with in the gym, and this year I’m committed to improving. Stay tuned.
  3. Complete an unassisted pull-up
I was the kid in P.E. who jumped down during pull-up testing. At my highest weight, I avoided them altogether in the gym. Now I can do several with a band—next stop is my first unassisted pull-up.

Your goals matter. You matter.

If you have questions about GLP-1s or want to talk through your own journey, I’m an open book. I’d also love to hear your goals—and if you’re looking for an accountability partner, you know where to find me.

Let’s crush 2026—together.

Stay Positively You! 💫
